Welcome Back, Its 2013! I am so excited to get the students prepared for 2nd grade. During the remainder of this quarter and the school year many factors will play an important part in our childs' education. A few reminders: 1) Read daily and record the books on the reading log:(check homework folder) 2) Check agenda for homework/spelling and communication from me 3) Communicate by signing the agenda book that the student has completed the work. (If you have any questions please communicate using the parent section of the agenda book) 4) Ask your child daily about what they are learning in school. 5) Remind students to stay on task throughout the school day and rememeber to SOAR (Show self-control, Offer Peer Support, Actively Listen and Learn, Respect Everyone.) This is key to students learning and retaining as much as possible during instructional time.

Free E-books to read
- This site provides several books that the students can read online. This would be a great parent/child activity or an independent activity. Allow the students to read out loud to you or to whisper read. Some of the books have audio which allows the child to read and follow along.
